after creators update noticed laptop no longer enter sleep mode. powercfg /systemsleepdiagnostics see 2 power request entries every 15 minutes \device\harddiskvolume4\windows\system32\svchost.exe. since svchost generic ran xperf , found group policy service, gpsvc, culprit. i turned on gpsvc debug via registry entry hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\diagnostics\gpsvcdebuglevel 0x30002. reviewing log i'm wondering if power request sent service machine , user process starts.
anyone else seeing sleep issues creators update? should gpsvc running every 15 minutes , submitting power requests on win 10 home edition? i've tried powercfg /requestsoverride service svchost.exe system didn't seem work. the workaround easy - manually enter sleep mode or have background script implement sleep user idle being true priority. ideally these feature updates not break existing functionality (sleep worked pre-creators update). thanks comments/help.
