hi, i have windows 10 professional 64 bit installation have been using no problems @ least 3-4 months.  after not (knowingly) making changes system today, windows 10 not start.  when presented options of do, chose troubleshoot | advanced options | startup repair.  after doing this, got black screen windows logo, below saw text "automatic repair" short time, followed "diagnosing pc", followed "attempting repairs".  followed message said "startup repair couldn't repair pc.  press "advanced options" try other options repair pc or "shut down" turn off pc. log file: c:\windows\system32\logfiles\srt\srttrail.txt." the log file indicates following tests completed successfully: check updates system disk test disk failure diagnosis disk metadata test target os test volume content test boot manager diagnosis ... gets stuck reported follows: -------------------------------- root c

this third time i've faced issue after reinstalling windows clean. randomly , unprovoked user action or program update, pc unable start windows.  sometimes emoticon face screen stop code 0xc000021a, goes automatic repair. none of repair solutions work, , without windows cd, have tired: -system restore -startup repair -diagnostics reports no problems -command prompt check disk error, unable fix or provide other information -basically every other option in menu. the thing has worked reinstalling operating system, problem comes every time. after first time, took 2 months. after second time, took 2 weeks. can computer disabling driver signatures, computer runs slower , not solution. i cannot reinstall windows every 2 weeks. seems serious, avoidable flaw windows , i've decided never buy windows pc again avoid plethora of stupid problems this. nevertheless, fixed able use machine. please help! thank you. i have dell inspiron 1

did update on surface pro 4 , shows start menu.  i can no longer access taskbar or desktop.  i have tried restarting computer , trying uninstall update, none of these things seem work.  what happens start menu shows , of applications (settings, microsoft edge, word, etc) full screen.  they can still minimise not close.  it important able access these things again, , appreciated, not understand going on computer.  thank you. hi touko, it seems in tablet mode. address concern, kindly follow steps below on how turn off tablet mode: click on start menu , select settings . click on system , select tablet mode . under tablet mode , turn off make windows more touch-friendly when using device tablet . let know how goes. regards. hey, have dell precision 3510 window 10 pro (64bit) , lately i've started experiencing weird behaviors when putting computer sleep. seems when charger plugged in, getting computer in , out of sleep works well, when pulling charger out, putting computer sleep shutting down , work lost. i've ran dell diagnostics boot , hardware (memory, fan, hd etc ..) intact, in addition, did not see abnormal log issues in event viewer. dism , sfc showed no issues windows. this happens when closing lid (set sleep in power plan options) or when explicitly putting computer sleep start menu. i've checked battery , it's in condition, diagnostics test passed without issues , i've never experienced issues working on battery, when putting sleep. ideas ? .. when pulling charger out, putting computer sleep shutting down , all work lost . use powercfg find out if can hibernate (e.g. p

i see double recycle bin , taskbar on desktop. second pair has no functionality though. use laptop docked , undocked. when it's docked has 2 24" displays , issue doesn't happen. when it's undocked , doesn't matter whether reboot/shut down computer stays this. when go background personalize , change picture solid color problem goes away. suggestions? hi not sure if bears semblance issue friend asked me @ desktop because icons duplicated , 1 set dead. after headscratching realised second set of icons in fact photographs , had reset desktop screenshot went original picture on pc , set background , had desktop normal. fortunately background family picture saved in system. if can go original picture, set background , see if inactive stuff goes. figured problem when asked him show me picture he'd used background in screenshot folder , had icons on whereas original had not. had no idea how
