lately i've been having many issues windows 10 disk. started when disk read 100% in task manager , continued worse. eventually, sfc /scannow not scan parts of image "corrupted , unreadable". tried chkdsk /f /r (along every other argument possible machine, including /scan , /x), , last time tried it, machine restarted without saying anything. unusual, did not leave chkdsk log saying operation completed. naturally, next step dism utility, (like sfc) failed. tried dism /online /cleanup-image /restore-health, returned "the file or directory corrupted , unreadable" remeniscent of sfc. tried restorehealth (to no avail). i'm asking - response dism yielded "no component store corruption detected. operation completed successfully." possibly notable tried in safe mode, result still strange (as dism seems working fine in safe mode part). there i'm doing wrong? also, have ideas else fix windows 10 image? every time have been trying log computer today windows 10 gets stuck on "preparing windows" never else. have tried resetting windows said reset failed. can't reset options come f11 or going startup menu using f8 on startup. haven't done different computer since day 1, never changed settings, turn off when leave , on when back, always. hi, your computer may unable boot windows 10 because of services or devices unable run. let's try removing peripheral devices connected computer , see if there changes when boot up. you can access recovery environment in windows 10 , try 1 of available options repair system. different options explained on page . since unable log in windows, follow these steps access recovery environment: restart computer while holding down shift key on keyboard. if first step not work, can force computer shut down pressing power button or unplugging power cord when boot up.
