hi there,     recently, laptop starts playing default beep no reason around 5-15 min per beep (no notifications). no sound email. tried run sound troubleshot many times no problem found. sound still play while playing games , watch videos. try set laptop quite hours yet sound still plays. i have asked question before, never received answer. so, try again , hope can answer me.  have been using same desktop computer 10 years.  started vista, upgraded windows 7, , upgraded windows 10.  during time, never used password sign windows @ sign-in screen.  so, did search "password", received information in sttings regrading managing network password, changing home group password, , when went "settings", found information how change password.  no matter try do, there no way create password scratch windows sign-in screen.  now, has become extremely important me know how set password scratch.  why? because reason, when started computer today, received quite surprise--a beautiful picture date , time, when clicked on screen image provided me sign-in screen, , not allow me past sign-in screen without putting in password, don't have.  had "system image restore" able regain access computer.  apparently, password progra

i trying use hidden admin account under win 10/64 pro, can change password of normal admin account. i have tried " net user administrator /active: yes"  by going safe mode usb recovery disk.  it looks hidden profile becomes active, not become visible on windows logon screen.  i have tried altering registry using regedit, in safe mode,but doesn't save changes, apparently. is inability show admininistrator account caused using safe mode on recovery disk (i don't have other option since normal admin account can no longer logged into). is there can besides doing factory reinstall of windows?  without resetting normal admin password, can no longer install software.  fyi, never changed normal admin password, windows no longer accepts entered password.  (this not caps lock issue.) thanks. have tried above troubleshooting on safe mode? i have seen people talking start menu problem, solution ever see restart pc.  i downloaded windows 10 when first came out, on new asus computer, , have had problem below ever since went windows 10. this computer work computer, , stays on of week, should not big deal, apparently windows 10 is. can use computer days without ever needing start menu, when need it, , click on windows icon on bottom left, nothing happens. when click on circle (cortana) nothing happens. stops working period, can right click, , options, when click on search button, or other button in there, works, other times not. way fix restart computer. problem within next 8 hours, stop responding again. have patiently waited fixed update, have went through many, , nothing has fixed it. never had problem pc being on monday @ 8am friday @ 5pm windows 7. have yet find permanent fix, , feel may never fixed me @ point. have uninstalled kaspersky, many other programs, , nothing helps.

i upgraded windows 10 pro use bitlocker. not asking password setup. wondering how set up. viewed similar post instructs to  enable "require additional authentication @ startup", , "allow advanced pins startup". cannot find option.  thanks help, david please note bitlocker works mitigation tool when data compromised. meaning, activate feature when there confirmed breach of device or pc decommissioned. more information bitlocker, can read article . can suggest level of security device, setup password hard disk. more information how set up, recommend getting in touch manufacturer of device or motherboard manufacturer if custom built pc. let know if have further questions.
