so bought asus laptop. used year , further now. have problem. problem started when first reset os because ethernet (realtek pcie gbe family controller) software update keep forcing deep sleep. did reset after made mistake. when started fresh tried install first intel hd 4400 graphics software latest update, manually. @ middle of process there no flicker on monitor changes installation failed cannot install software drive software updated. next month windows defender broken no matter how many times restart security service. has no effect. though haven't have antivirus installed , uninstalled pre-installed antivirus. watch yt video about. change registry hklm.software.microsoft.windows nt.profilelist there have change profilepathimage multi string instead of expanded. after reboot go login screen , type ms account password says incorrect. checked online via phone , accepted it. tried reset 2nd time stop @ 60% , undoing changes. goes troubleshooting boo

hello community, i have looked through postings , have found none address particular problem.  here goes, have light grey blank screen has been popping randomly beginning 1/14/17.  i can on word, or on web, when bam! grey screen hits.  it alters in appearance lots of microscopic black dots, whiter in appearance, darker gray, there quadrants of lighter , darker grays, screen splits in half horizontally line running through grey screen.  it vibrates , flashes, nano-second, longer.  it's been getting worse , worse, lasting longer , longer.  to clear, not seeing screen on startup.  the updates ones windows 10 downloads automatically, haven't updated windows 10 os.  windows 10 came computer, , i've had 5 months.  what i've done go dell manufacturers website see if there drivers need updated, graphics drivers i've read think might cause of problem.  all drivers updated. i see information going safe mode, applies windows 7.  i supp

split thread. hi  i updated laptop windows 10 month ago , never used until hour ago. when tired sign in while ago, said incorrect password. reset password on windows live , tried again. still says "incorrect password". do ? are there other password options pin showing in link below password box?  is possible used local account when setting pc password might different, or known sure same ms account changed password for?  it may not update new password because can't online sign-in screen, continue try old one.  if nothing else works can boot into windows 10 installation media enable elevated administrator account to create local user account in windows 10, assign admin status, sign it, copy files over, test programs run or reinstall them.  then when ready delete old account first switch local account microsoft account , delete in account settings.  can promote new account
