hello, cannot figure out one. when rebuilt windows pc , changed legacy uefi booting, must have plugged bootable thumbdrive in first. bios has since recognized device "partition 1". when installed windows in efi, became known in bios "partition 2" (see picture). while can manually change boot order, bios automatically flips thumbdrive top, since officially labeled #1. causes issues if remotely managing pc boot thumb drive , not windows, ending remote management ability. how change system name windows partition "partition 1"? once boot windows, listed properly. pre-windows issue. thanks bob Windows / Windows 10 / Power on or off a device / PC

hi, having problem windows 10 pro fastboot option. when turn on, computer fails start on first boot. once hard reset, computer starts without hitch. when disable it, computer starts no problem every time. have looked in bios settings , have disable fast startup did not affect problem in way. on msi laptop, i7 6700hq, gtx 1070, 48gb of 2100mhz ram, samsung 950 512gb pcie ssd boot , samsung 850 pro 1tb of storage. since fastboot combination of cold shutdown , suspend, guessing problem problem ram? ran windows power troubleshooter , did nothing help.  after looking online thinking might better off leave fastboot option off. appreciated! thanks. i thought fast startup caused problems older hardware not system. reading on hibernation found hiberfil.sys uses 75% size of ram on disk. in case 48gb (!) ram that's 36gb. fast startup not needed when booting ssd, , writing file every time shutdown affect usable space on ssd. s

hi all, i've had quite hard time trying troubleshoot error code 0xc0000021a upon boot, resulting in blue screen. so far i've managed boot machine disabling driver signature enforcement using advanced startup recovery options, others won't work (even safe mode). this leaves machine vulnerable , unusable applications, i'm looking fix issue. the issue popped recently, after installing several programs associated graphics , games. i've tried uninstalling (and re-installing afterwards) of components trying fix issue, without luck. i've ran malwarebytes scans, windows defender scans, kaspersky's tdsskiller , other ones - of them 0 infections found. other options in advanced startup recovery menu don't seem either: - system restore isn't available there no restore points before point when problem occurred. - windows startup repair can't manage fix issue. - system image recovery isn't available ther

i have gigabyte laptop (i7 processor, 16gb ram, nvidia 780m graphics card) running windows 10.  run high performance power plan. i finding brightness automatically adjusting when battery power fluctuates @ around 100%.  laptop switches battery @ 100% while plugged in , switches ac power when under 100%.  because windows 10 adjusts brightness when switching between plugged in , battery, creates constant brightness level reset. each brightness shift creates lag reason noticeable when running in intense graphical mode (i have nvidia graphics card in addition intel built-in).  i've tried setting plan brightness between battery/plugged in same level , doesn't stop power option setting setting brightness level anyways if level isn't changing. also, using separate hdmi monitor unaffected windows brightness setting makes less sense why system lags. the laptop battery not removable (requires disassembly), isn't viable option remove it.
