i have asus rog laptop win 10 pro. i have done sensible thing , disabled windows update, not cause. the event log says reason transition "power button" event. but power button situated above keyboard, , lid lid shut, physically impossible press it. i opened microsoft account purchase apps on store. this pops every time turn on outlook.  the account closed few weeks ago.  i keep cancelling , pops up.  i'm running windows 10.  any advice on how stop, gladly accepted. thanks much, koala3bears hmm, that's rather odd. clarify, did perform reboot before deleting profile? if didn't make difference, may proceed instructions below: open task manager , under details tab, check if can find searchprotocolhost.exe . if it's there, right-click , select open file location . usually, location in c:\\windows\system32 folder. if location takes somewhere else other system32 folder, there's possibility virus. eitherway, you'll need run system in safe mode , clean boot isolate whether issue still happening or not. if pop-up doesn't show in both modes respectively, run system scan windows defender or anti virus software you're using in safe mode. refer support articles below mo
