the login screen windows 10 comes user doesn't exist , incorrect password. when try again, gives me 2 possibilities users, second of correct (and real) user. i have tried removing user account control panel, 1 correct user appears there. i followed instructions removing login registry ( hkey_local_machine \software\microsoft\windows     nt\currentversion\profilelist ) , deleted incorrect-looking entry leaving ones real user , administrator (and 3 others names made of short lists of numbers, assume standard windows accounts), had no effect. how can rid of annoyance? i have following problem: i'm running dlna server uses udp 1900 discovery. service set allowed connection in windows firewall advanced security. in addition use network discovery has predefined rule svchost.exe on udp 1900 (ssdp-in). if disable rule network discovery switched off. if firewall switched off, works desired. if switch on dlna server cannot found anymore. switch off predefined ssdp-in rule dlna server works again network discovery disabled. creating alternate rule (udo 1900 in programs) not enable network discovery unfortunately. i tried in addition no luck: - creating rule allowing udp 1900 programs - creating rule allowing incoming traffic local ip (aka tv) - limiting ssdp-in local ips excluding 1 (aka tv) mentioned before it seems once network discovery switched on other rules allowing traffic on port ignored. how can overcome situation? hello, provide accurate solution

hello,  i tried looking through other problems people have been having taskbars, there problems taskbar malfunctioning due windows 10 update. tried restarting computer i have windows 10, problem buttons on taskbar not work, , i'm not sure if got strange virus or something, shouldn't because of windows 10 update.  the windows button not working when click it, works when right-click it. cortana's search button works fine well, , programs on taskbar such file manager work when click it, right-click menu not pop when right-click. arrow leading more options work, other buttons indicating battery percentage on laptop doesn't work, , can't calendar pop up. notifications button other settings (i.e. rotation lock, airplane mode) won't pop either. i downloaded trial of norton , restarted laptop, , after restarted it, that's when problems started happening. thank (: the windows butt

hello, i have pc windows 10 version 1607 (build14393.969). wanted add polish language after found need polish proofing tools while working german word part of office 365. used download button in word. i brought download section in picture below. i downloaded installed 32-bit lap version, because use 32-bit office. next picture show fragment of desktop view before , after lap-installation: as can see word icon in existing word file replaced generic white icon. moreover, found word no more standard application before lap installation , cannot set standard application .doc files in picture below. when try find word in list , set .doc file extension word, find unknown application .doc. however, works .docx… polish proofing tools work fine after lap installation windows not… tried load windows polish language before installing lap package, same erroneous result. difference was, keyboard layout set active in picture below. now every time

hi, on 1 of windows 10 pcs, each time reboot, desktop icons change larger size.  i left-click desktop , select view > classic icons.  the icons size , arrangement want.  however, when reboot (or shutdown , restart), icons appear larger how set them.  if left-click desktop , select view, none of 3 choices selected.  i can select classic icons , them i'm go until next reboot.  the size change isn't huge, it's big enough nuisance. instead of left-clicking desktop , selecting view, can click desktop , hold ctrl , move logitech mouse scroll-wheel 1 click classic icons size want.  (ctrl+shift+4 resets size classic icons.) i have googled , explored every lead, haven't been able solve yet.  i have 2 windows 10 pcs--desktop that's having problem , dell laptop works fine.  both have windows 10 home installed updates applied.  view > auto arrange icons off; align grid on. i'll grateful this. john

hi,  i have hpxw 4600 workstation. quite old still business. it made have 4 screens connected, use work. back 6 months ago, or longer, windows 10 got updated automatically, always, , since then, 2 our of 4 screens stopped working. it nvidia quatro 720 something. i have 2 graphic cards installed @ pc. since update, nvidia stopped working , used 2 screens, tried countless repairs, uninstalls, reboots etc. but nothing helped. in december 2016, 1 day pc asked update,  so did , believe or not, 4 screens lighted up, until realised begining of problem. so, looked nvidia driver updated, didn't allow start pc.  i playing whole day , thing able do, bring pc stage before update. so had again, 2 screens. went on christmas break , on return today, checked if there update windows required , saw nvidia again wasn't updated, plus error number. so went online, read discussion , installed latest nvidia software graphic card.

i've created windows 10 image , have couple of “odd” things happening when install on pc. one -   if go webpage, example, www.sears.com , main page displays fine, once start dig deeper, clicking on “appliances” link , selecting “refrigerator”, spinning wheel on “refrigerator page.   however, if go to the same sears web page using edge, page comes fine no "spinning" wheel.  i'm assuming it's not letting function of page load.  if add site trusted sites section of ie loads fine after restart of ie. two – if user logs on, same thing happens ie search function not work.   i have not uninstalled cortana or search features. i haven’t done tinkering windows settings.   about thing did set wim copy profile default profile users log on same start menu, installed software need, , make change start menu show office 2016, ie, windows media player, , few others. i’m @ loss.   i can stand-alone install of , windows 10 works no issues ever

hello fairly (and within few minutes after start up) pc stops loading applications.  if double click on app, blue circle appear briefly , nothing.   this includes trying load task manager.  i able right click on task bar, selecting task manager nothing.  i can ctrl alt del , takes me lock screen, clicking task manager there results in same thing.  nothing loads, still able navigate around windows.   i unable shut down/restart pc (but sleep) when in state.  i have no choice press reset button on main box. any ideas? hi, assist better, kindly provide more details answering following questions: when did start encountering issue? have made changes on computer prior issue? what specific troubleshooting steps have tried far? meanwhile, suggest boot computer safe mode , check if issue persists. this, kindly refer link . do let know how goes. hey everyone, at wits use help. symptoms: slow boot up most of apps wont load. freezes whenever uac/admin right prompt triggers (screen goes dim,hear sound bite, no pop appears can ctrl alt dlt out of it) will freeze after 15 minutes forcing power cycle all started on may 17th, booted wow played 20 minutes crashed, battle.net app started have issues saw ssd had 5 gigs of space  left ( installed skyrim on ssd in error) made room , that's when realized severity of issue.  due admin rights issue reduces amount of troubleshooting can do, here's i've tried. uninstalling may updates reinstalling may updates reset (all options fail @ 30%) safe mode (computer doesn't freeze admin rights, still wont pop me accept) clean boot - issue remained uninstalled avast, disabled windows defender and few others im forgetting. appreciated!   hello, there multiple possibilities

a partition on drive protected bitlocker, stopped opening of sudden showing me error message "the disk structure corrupted or unreadable". followed this article recover data ( repair-bde c: f: -rp *****... ) on emptied wd 500 gb portable hard disk. recovery worked fine , asked run "chkdsk f: /f" before opening drive. chkdsk giving me error "unable determine volume version , state chkdsk aborted". when try open f: drive, says media corrupt. i saw thread  on ms community but not helping. in below image, have recovered h , destination f, error shown when try open f. i appreciate if can seem have lost important data.
