hello i've been browsing number of posts , none of them quite situation. yesterday, during game, acer laptop n series decided freeze. performed emergency shutdown , turned on. appeared in first few instances screen had windows logo , buffering logo. few restarts later, moves onto solution attempt says "repairing disk errors, may take on hour" in few hours later, restarts , moves onto screen "scanning , repairing drive (c:): 0%" few more hours. after sometime, blue screen appear haven't had chance catch information stated. then, whole process starts again.  any suggestions on how solve welcomed , i'll supply more information if needed. carl start laptop, after manufacturers logo disappears , windows 10 tries boot, press , hold power button down 5 - 10 seconds perform hard shut down do twice on third boot attempt, windows boot windows 10 repair environment, ther

so installed creators update few days ago using update assistant , ok. issue far pc goes sleep mode after 2-3 minutes of not being used. , don't mean monitor turning off, computer goes deep sleep mode, because when come back, login screen , few seconds network unavailable. so figured update messed power options, restored default settings on power options @ system app, , proceeded change time sleep while plugged in, "never". don't want pc sleeping because leave downloading apps or working heavy processes, yet computer still goes sleep mode regardless after 2-3 minutes. any way fix this? if don't want sleep, set never. if sleeps when put never, problem "unattended" sleep setting posted above. need set 0 doesn't shut down (when plugged in) after waking unattended. the other day tweaking settings on laptop, trying optimize performance. turned on high contrast mode, wouldn't turn off. i thoroughly checked of theme, color, , ease of access settings. i've restarted computer, ran deep virus scans, driver updates, updated windows 10.1, system file check, disk error check, windows memory diagnostic, etc. pretty think of or find research. some of high contrast effects went away, lot of windows , 3rd party applications still have black backgrounds , colored text , highlights. text blending background makes programs unusable (task manager, file explorer, no descriptions in services). doesn't go away when boot safe mode. screenshots below should show pretty well. i've been researching last 2 days fix, can't find solutions. i'm totally stumped. there else can next? in advance. laptop display set in bios,edit...also,windows services.msc  shows,som

prior creators update, following:   control /name microsoft.personalization /page pagewallpaper    used work able select folder containing subfolders of photos, allow shuffling of photos no matter subfolder in. the command seemed allow additional level of customization accessed via start menu/settings/personalization option. i.e. latter method allowed select folder photos in it, not folder subfolders containing photos.  of course don't keep photos in 1 big folder without subfolders categorizing them different events. therefore reduced option cannot select top level folder (e.g. trips) , have them cycle through different subfolders of trips , display photos @ random on desktop. has else experienced this, , know of workaround? or microsoft if listening, can please put ability select folder subfolders of photos , allow them cycle through @ random above command used allow. has happened since creators update yesterday me.

i've found since windows updated on 5/22 start , message buttons on taskbar stop working frequently. don't panic, there's simple way fix without having dig in system or follow complicated steps. download iobit advanced system care program, can find on webpage by googling iobit advanced system care freeware download. once you've downloaded , opened program click on toolbox tab , open mywin tab (not pro version unless want buy it.) on opening page, on left side @ bottom of menu select fix problem . click opens options. select repair now> repair start button , click on button right, let go through cycle , when flashes fixed, close program , restart computer. no digging around , frustration gone. somehow start button takes me classic menu (windows 7).  i want go windows 10 start menu tiles , all.  how do that?  i've tried personalization , restarting , hasn't changed anything. there no such built-in ability show "windows 7" or "classic" style menu in windows 10.  did perhaps install kind of program accomplish this?  there's several such programs available, "classicshell" , "start8" stardock company. if installed 1 of those, go control panel remove/uninstall , start menu return normal.
