my latest windows 10 startup repair situation: - critical system driver missing or contains errors file \windows\ 0xc000000d. looks bad, it's system issue because no other startup options work. strtrail.txt log file reveals no issues, usual bcd stuff , other startup options - disabling launch av, driver signature, safe mode, disabling  auto start on failure, etc.  and go startup repair diagnosis. just @ point you've had enough , decide it's re-install remember line windows xp - registry file missing or corrupt, 1 of 5 registry hives.. so sure enough in regback have 5 recent hives. backup current ones, copy ones in regback , bastard computer boots , it's huge sigh of relief. so questions arise:- 1) why can't startup repair detect registry problems , indicate them.. 2. frequency of registry backup. if regular why can't startup repair rely on restoring backed set of registry hives. given registry integral necessary part

hi, i have hit issue bitlocker uses tpm on windows 10 laptop. in past able take ownership of tpm , export key/password. current version of win10 no longer allows this. fine if no longer needed key. unfortunately on laptop tpm has got in locked state after many failed logins user.  able login bitlocker recovery key after rejected initially. because windows retains ownership not have tpm key , therefore cannot reset. i have trawled various technet articles , cannot see how supposed resolve this. tpm automatically clear lockout after period of time? i have suspended bitlocker on computer. looks cannot resume until tpm lockout has ended. isn't oversight on how supposed able resolve issues? thanks! stephen. did contact manufacturer of laptop on how reset tpm, possibly through bios? hello community. this recent comprehensive set of updates windows 10 has wrought havoc system.  firstly has doubled email accounts in ms mail & people app - had 4 mail accounts different addresses, have eight- 2 of each. if delete them , re-add them upon restart again doubled. secondly have lost control of volume out. have hdmi out connection 2.1 sound set , volume controls no longer function can have maximum level or mute, that's it. example - play mp3 music file groove music app , bam it's super loud. adjusting volume level in app ineffective except 0 mutes audio output. adjusting level the system volume control in bottom right of screen same no effect except zero. case audible audio book app, internet radio streaming, spotify , video playback. thirdly have serious issues video playback. play videos acg media player app or ms movies & tv media player. both of these apps now. 90% of video files of format not play, app launch

using local account on windows 10 work machine, have docs, desktop, etc, mapped folders on our network.  when go "sync settings", says logged on temporary profile.  also, start menu not maintain customized settings.  i assuming these related.  any ideas? are on company network? it possible part of domain guest group. should removed on group have ability log on , permanent local profile. you need contact local this. hope helps. windows 10 updated automatically on computer yesterday , got hung on blank screen cursor after restart. after spending day diagnosing problem, able change boot mode configuration uefi secure boot "off" , "startup repair" options. then, after running "attempt repairs" received message said "startup repair couldn't repair pc". so, restored pc point before "critical update" performed yesterday morning, , able restart computer successfully. morning, however, windows decided try automatic update, , computer again unable restart. had repeat yesterday's process, isn't quick process, , have paused updates 7 days, hoping microsoft fix issue.  saw thread in forum issue occurring applications modify "start menu" button, not apply situation. else having issue? i've lost 2 days of productivity because of stupid update, , avoid losing any more.  how can diagnose this?

hey all. i cannot sign computer uses windows 10. have looked @ multiple solutions , tried them all, none of them work. not want erase files due fact have no backed them up. here's happened leading me not being able log in. i made microsoft account told me going change password computer. however, password made account wouldn't work on computer. gave message "you can't sign device right now. go account.live.com fix problem, or try last password used on device". tried old password , when did not work, reset password using account.live.com. however, new password not work on computer, after turned off , turned on computer. have unplugged computer internet , tried both passwords gives message "your device offline. please sign in password used on device".  the problem solutions have far fact supposed use administrator password log in. administrator on computer , have no idea of password or how retrieve it. have talked m
