so, i've been having issue months (so many i've lost count). i'll doing thing on pc, of sudden apps , system become non-responsive. odd thing is, though, key controls (such ctrl + alt + del) don't until system resumes function (approximately a minute later). when resumes, clicked/typed appears @ fast rate. custom build, eliminated processing and building problems. worked fine until year ago.  i've been keeping eye out similar problems, , have found some, no fix has worked... my specs can found @ following pastebin: http://pastebin.com/pkqr36rq (and i'm booting off a  crucial mx200 250gb 2.5" solid state drive ).  i've read , ssd, cpu, , gpu culprits. haven't narrowed down yet, though. i've done things looking @ system event log, , have found nothing useful there. in addition running the system profiler/recording thing (i can't remember called).  if helps, remember time leave pc on overnight, ,

to continue initial question posted here , understand why windows firewall allows default incoming connections modern app.  a few observations:  in windows firewall advanced security there 2 sets of rules: inbound , outbound.  outbound rules allow programs , apps communicate internet. inbound rules allow unsolicited connections (as have understood far, random not user or app provoked connections) computer internet.  since windows firewall's outbound scanning disabled default, outbound rules useless due "allow everything" policy (unless there explicit outbound block rule).  regular apps (non servers), such browsers, can work fine having outbound allow rules (or default "allow everything" firewall setting). can still receive incoming data if allowed communicate internet (outbound) if there no allowing inbound rule or if there blocking inbound rule! for example, launching google chrome , typing address, make brow

hello, tried windows 10 on old pc. not sure if infected @ time. don't think was. created account log windows 10 microsoft account (the email , password use microsoft office online or onedrive). bought brand new new pc windows 10 on it. used  the same email , password log new computer did on old one. if old pc infected new pc become infected if use same microsoft account log it? it's unlikely, happen if (for example) had infected file stored in onedrive , opened same file later on new pc.  while unlikely, isn't entirely out of question. i'd make sure have built-in windows defender turned on, , practice  habits downloading , installing software trust. i have non-standard installation: ssd1: windows 10 (1) ssd2: windows 10 (2) it working fine year. user select os via metro boot menu.  1 of windows (1) got creator update.  today graphic boot menu shows black screen. can still select windows boot using arrows , hitting enter (blindly), it's kinda working. it's super inconvenient , graphic boot menu back.  have 2 monitors if it's matter.  fast boot turned off. eascybcd shows no errors in bootmanager, metro menu active. both os works fine when loaded.  any suggestions cause , how can fix it? is'it boot menu/windows problem or monitor/graphic drivers maybe? nick dich , thank reply. i solved problem, still not quite sure exactly was cause. seems user forgot turn off connected multimedia devices (external soundcards) while updating os. turned them off, did cold restart , boot screen fixed.  Windows

i terribly facing issues shutdown , sleep since windows 10 upgrade. system won't  shutdown it's screen , lights goes off. later can see system not off fan working , battery drains fast. way shutdown system force shutdown pressing shift + power button. secondly facing issue sleep system won't wake sleep mode. whenever system goes sleep mode need force shutdown , switch on system normal booting... i have gone through lot of websites , youtube searches better solution. still same persists. irritated because of these , thinking roll windows 8.1 pls me solution hi,     to better assist concern, ask questions clarification know best possible resolution offer.   may know troubleshooting steps have done on end? what current version or build of windows 10?   we forward reply. i have pc monitor (1440 x 900) main monitor, have tv plugged hdmi slot on graphics card screen little big (all 4 sides cut off) on desktop, right clicked>display settings>advanced display settings , changed display 1024 x 768 applied setting can see 4 sides of desktop on tv it's not widescreen, there way keep 1024 make widescreen (something 1024 x 992) i know there isn't 1024 x 992 (only 992 1768 x 992 made screen small.......maybe custom resolution? hi james, windows has own default scaling settings , colors each display in pc, best system. we understand want make custom modifications go beyond type of adjustments can made through windows utility. can give suggestions through feedback hub , readily available windows 10. can find through cortana or search bar . if need further assistance, let know.
