hey long time windows user here (grew on vista , xp 7 later on , dabbled in 8) , after having rebuild entire system because of windows product key error (dont ask long convoluted story) got finished redid overclock last night @ 3am est after causing system crash twice 1 accidentally going powerful overclock system , 2 because changed wrong number. once clocking finished , done restarted lock screen 1 last time check boot , went bed turning off lock screen. got morning (3/30/17) , left instantly not taking time turn on figuring id leave off until later evening when got back.  i return home , flip on system , walk away feed cats , return find idling on lock screen ready go custom background lockscreen loaded telling me should okay. type pin number in and... doesnt take? system requesting microsoft password linked account (which shouldnt since linked pin number login) provide figuring took update last night after shut off , messed pin (this not unheard

i'm in bit of predicament regarding desktop icons. (if don't care background, skip reading paragraph , go straight actual problem) for background purposes, i'll tell issue lead need solution topic. note: i'm not asking one, because i've given lol. had weird issue old windows 10 installation on ssd freeze bios @ splash screen. couldn't bios or nothing if ssd attached. remove it'd post fine. trust me, i've tried imaginable. reset bios, repair mbr, vanilla microsoft repairs, bootrec.exe, cables, more cmd wizardry, name it. anyway, thing can't boot it, , leads issue on new ssd i'd with. fresh installed on new ssd (i needed larger ssd anyway) , everything's working great on new ssd. also note, i cant boot old ssd, can access files on pc. so here's issue: use fences (wonderful software) , have 3-400 icons neatly set in on old ssd. that's quite few. want copy these icons new ssd save many hours adding them

i have program that's attempting access file in \\windows\syswow64 directory.  the file config file program.  using windows 7, 2008 r2, , windows 8, file updated.  on windows 10, appears running permission issues. if user runs program administrator on box, works fine. as member of administrators group, if user runs command prompt elevated administrator command prompt, works fine. if right-click the shortcut program , select "run admin", appears not find file present in \\windows\syswow64 directory indicating can't find config file.   i've compared policies , file permissions , appear same. i'm assuming there different between elevated permissions created administrator command prompt , admin token temporarily applied when using right-click "run admin" on program's shortcut.  i hoping direction of else @ find culprit. hi, since appears permission issue in wi

split thread. i have been on win10 virtually start , gone through various updates since. i on version 1703 build 15063,413 , desktop icons have started "move left" thing, has manifested on latest version , on 1 of 4 pcs i have checked various suggestions on here , none work. icons regularly appear on left hand side after being arranged previous time , doing system restore known day not chage that. however note using "perfmon/rel" command line program "nvdisplay.container.exe" being reported "stopped working" on various occasions. could problem? note pc starts ok , without checking "perfmon/rel" wouldn't know amiss! cheers keith further above following previous post found , installed newer nvidia driver. seems have stopped the"nvdisplay.container.exe" errors, @ least icons have still moved left although since last boot of pc noth
