hi microsoft community, i have relatively fresh computer/windows 10 home install. when @ user folders (c:\users), see 4 folders. "default.migrated", "micro", "public", , hidden folder, "default". emphasis on caps/nocaps, dots , spelling listed in users folder. "micro" caught eye, because not recall using user name on first use, may have. either way, more concerning me of these other folders, including "default.migrated" next hidden "default" account. on top of this, default "documents" folder left not folder icon used be. can see in image below. now, on top of this, when accounts in command prompt, following; "administrator", "defaultaccount", "guest", , "micro". so, command prompt accounts not match users folder accounts. in past i've noticed windows creating more 1 account log into, , felt strange, superfluous, , buggy

hi there, a few days ago, started windows 10 laptop , noticed though logged in account administrator, reset if had installed new copy of windows. i thought personal files gone, fortunately safe , sound in users/*my user name folder.  i accepted weird change, started adapting "fresh new windows", , copied pictures in pictures folder. yesterday pc thought weirdness enough, , reverted original state. however, lost pictures copied during "limbo" stage. so kindly ask you, **** going on windows? sincerely, dragan macedonia hello, this seems weird problem. suggest reset pc. can select keep of data safe , sound. resetting pc best option fix kind of problems. settings -> update & security -> recovery -> reset pc note take while worth it! hope helps you! regards! morning when turned on pc, got splash screen date , time usual, hit key or click mouse , login screen appear.  morning when did that, login box flashed , disappeared.  no matter how many time tried, couldn't login screen.  tried restore , none of restores worked.  tried repair startup , not fix. trying safe mode, , have black screen half hour.  can't desktop make repairs, or uninstall programs, or anything.  have never had problems acer laptop before.  yesterday having issues bitdefender free antivirus, , uninstalled it, (and other software no longer using) , planning install 1 morning. hi, there possibility issue due software corruption.  can refer article below troubleshoot issue: troubleshoot black screen problems if issue persists, can reset pc or reinstall windows using recovery drive. refer article below steps: recovery options in windows 10 let know results. regards.

i'm having trouble adding aol.com email accounts (3). verizon fios accounts ( userids @verizon.net ) moved/converted aol.com accounts ( userids @verizon.net ) when verizon fios left florida. in windows vista, able use winmail keying in pop3/smtp info on accounts. can't seem find how specify information in windows 10. can setup accounts in win10 mail, receive messages account information out of date. think win 10 mail trying set them verizon accounts. had no problem setting my yahoo.com account in win 10 mail. continue using accounts named rather setting new accounts. assistance appreciated. ***post moved moderator appropriate forum category.*** hi marc, we suggest contact aol pop3/smtp settings configure them in windows mail. also, may follow steps here in set email in mail windows 10 in setting account in windows mail app. feel free ask if need further assistance. regards.

my computer freezes every few minutes. stays frozen minute resumes normal few minutes , freezes again. if press keys while frozen, actions result, occur in rapid succession when unfreezes. not freeze while streaming video or playing video file. the computer getting , installing windows updates automatically. have updated drivers. have run antivirus software, problem persists. the computer not freeze in safe mode, freeze in safe mode networking. problem persists after clean boot. the computer toshiba satellite l670 laptop, running windows 10 home. please provide more information cause of problem may diagnosed.   please restart computer , allow 20 minutes system run before uploading information required me investigate problem. when examining event viewer log files many, not all, problems show in period after computer has been booted.   please provide copy of system information file. access system information

hi. iam in safe mode loop. password never works (i know pin, , have microsoft live password) none works. used msconfig start in safe mode. stuck. ! hi chris, to resolve concern, kindly follow steps below: let computer boot in safe mode. press windows + r key on keyboard. type "msconfig" , go boot tab. uncheck safe boot and select ok . once done, restart computer. computer should boot in windows normally. let know how goes. good day! i'm new windows 10. got hands on last year when bought pc. so far, performance good. running smoothly. but changed when creators update (v1703) introduced. as usual, made sure apps updated before updating pc. after automatic update v1703, pc began show problems. my windows directory / explorer keeps on freezing, crashes few moments later. it's happening quite few times, resulting frequent app resets. everytime open apps (like chrome, games), windows explorer keeps on crashing. before v1703 update, don't encounter problem. i don't see issues drivers. here specs of pc: -windows 10 home single language 64-bit; os build 15063.296 -system model: acer aspire f5-537g -processor: intel core i5-6200u @2.3ghz, 4cpus -ram: 4gb ddr4 -gpu: nvidia geforce 940mx 2gb i'm not sure if because of creators update. your assistance highly appreciated. thanks! ***post moved by   the moderator appro

hello, recently had problems updating newest windows 10. got update every time restart computer, wont boot windows. gives me windows logo , keeps spinning white dots.  if use repair drive, can use command prompt, use bcdedit /fixboot , bcdedit /fixmbr , boot. after though, if restart, same thing.  a weird note. when restarted last time, got gray restart screen. in said "restarting" background gray instead of traditional blue.  if me stop having use command lines boot computer, appreciated.  hi, reading description provided,  may need take more steps resolve concern windows 10 computer won't boot. start with, recommend follow steps found in wiki article on how troubleshoot windows 8 , 10 fails start problems. let know how goes , feel free if need further assistance.
