Windows 10, Can't drag & drop files at times... and other bugs - Microsoft Community


not sure happened or if it's virus???? can't drag & drop files @ times, can, won't, when can't drag n drop cant right-click anything. options window pop millisecond , vanish. it'll pretty bad, close programs automatically.
i've tried "end process tree" in explorer, disabling chrome extensions, uninstalling chrome, explorer, etc, disabled touch pad, tried new mouse, did factory reset on laptop , still no fixes.

please help!!!!

we appreciate details have provided us. did right. in addition, since tried troubleshooting steps mentioned, know following information below can further isolate issue:

  • have made changes computer recently? installed software or updates?
  • were prompted error messages?

in meantime, running the system file checker recommended. identify , troubleshoot errors in system. steps, may refer link.

you can follow steps through fix windows update errors using dism or system update readiness tool to check update errors.

note: please perform clean boot on pc.

clean boot temporarily disables third party applications microsoft non-essential services basic drivers run. find third-party software can cause of issue.

here steps:

  1. from start, search for msconfig. 

  2. select system configuration from search results. 

  3. on services tab of system configuration dialog box, tap or click select the hide microsoft services check box, , tap or click disable all. 

  4. on startup tab of system configuration dialog box, tap or click open task manager. 

  5. on startup tab in task manager, each startup item, select item , click disable. 

  6. close task manager. 

  7. on startup tab of system configuration dialog box, tap or click ok, , restart computer.
