Windows 10 license expired scam - Microsoft Community

this morning received warning message on desktop. i'm sure scam don't know do. cannot online because seems have blocked access. not sure if should restart or not. starts out:

license-failure.org says:

system alert.

dear windows 10user

your m/s windows 10; license has been expired. due windows 10 has been locked out.

they want not of course.

your windows 10 computer has been locked (this true). no internet access. can use email.

there's more idea.

how fix this? restarting ok do?

that indeed scam.

the first thing try perform windows defender offline scan if can access settings.

click start > settings > update & security > windows defender > scroll down

if not work, need use advanced tools scan system multiple times.

you can try doing system restore before started experiencing problem:

there hide files/folders cannot see them normally. highly suggest running scan of computer antivirus/antimalware software. if need it, can use microsoft safety scanner, it's free:
