Windows 10 Creator's Update bricked my video card - Microsoft Community
the tldr version: after windows 10 cu, nvidia video card stopped working code 43.
things have tried far:
* updated nvidia driver.
- - v 376.09 - working fine 2 years, no longer works
- - v 378.48 - "current" version when w10cu landed, doesn't work
- - v 382.33 - current of - not work
* replaced nvidia card - 750ti, nvidia 750ti. the new-out-of-box 750ti yields code 43.
- - 3 versions of video driver listed above not work.
* tried both original 750ti , new 750ti in card slot. neither 750ti works in either slot.
yes stepped through every combination of card, slot, , driver version.
i gave on nvidia card , bought new radeon rx460.
* rx460 in "original" video card slot, w10 boots up, bluescreens when tries install driver.
* rx460 in alternate slot, w10 bluescreens during boot-up (never gets login screen)
i replaced motherboard new one, same manufacturer/model (asus z97 think is).
* rx460 in original slot still bluescreens when when tries install driver.
* original 750ti in original slot still code 43's.
i not particularly inclined run through every previous combination of card/slot/driver version.
everything else works: every usb device, tpm board inside, dvd, multi-target sata board attached external drive bay, mirrored os volume, vmware workstation, bitlocker, mean /everything/ else works fine.
the thing doesn't work video card, no way, no how. after going through 3 cards, 2 slots, 3 driver versions, , 2 motherboards, common factor here started when creator's update installed itself.
i around $800 , 3 weekends spent trying fix this. i not happy.
so microsoft, guys have answer?
hi,
after trying different combinations of drivers, motherboards, slots, , driver versions, , still video card did not work, suggest resetting windows. if issue still persists, suggest doing clean install of windows. so, refer on these wiki article0s made our mvps, greg carmack and andre da costa:
how to: perform clean install or reinstall of windows 10
clean install windows 10
don't hesitate give update on how goes.
