Windows 10 Start Button causing lock up - Microsoft Community

i have strange issue regarding start button , alt+tabbing in windows 10.

let me preface saying don't seem incur performance issues on games or programs use in general.  this issue not occur on other user profile created within computer.  

on primary windows profile, whenever hit start button can take few seconds load.  that's fine.  if try more once or twice in succession, computer temporarily freezes.  it seems display old glitch mouse start slowing down , lagging computer beeping bunch of times.  i've tried watch resources cannot see what's spiking whatever starts freeze computer shows after begins lock , disappears begins work again.  

if use start button once, no issue.  if have use back more once or twice, that's typically when occurs.  alt+tabbing seems cause same problem.  computer free of malware / viruses.

• have made changes computer recently? installed software or updates?
• what troubleshooting steps have tried far?

in meantime, suggest run system file checker. scan corruptions in windows files , restore corrupted files. complete steps, can refer support article: use system file checker tool repair missing or corrupted system files.

if didn't work, may start computer in clean boot state. clean boot temporarily disables third party applications microsoft non-essential services basic drivers run. find third-party software can cause of issue.
