Windows 10 "Find my device" has stopped finding my device - Microsoft Community

i'm seeing strange behavior find device option in windows 10.

it working fine until few days ago.  when go account.microsoft.com/devices, can see tablet, , says last seen few days ago accurate location of @ time.

1.  i log account.microsoft.com/devices, see device, , select "find device."

2.  it cycles bit in browser window (same behavior in both ie , chrome), windows 10 notification outside browser says:

"find device

an administrator tried locate device on account.microsoft.com/devices"

3.  at same time browser window still cycling waiting response , times out error:

"we can't reach device right now. might offline."

clearly reached device because device told me trying locate it.  i've tried process device , device, behavior same.  i tried clicking on notification when pops up, opens browser window for account.microsoft.com/devices gives me same offline message again.

any thoughts or suggestions?

btw, it's hp elitepad 1000 g2 updated windows 8.1 windows 10 6 months ago , has been able "find device" fine until few days ago.  one of mac-loving ifriends bragging how easy find phone , tablet, showing it, too.  very embarrassing when didn't work, , i've wasted 3 hours trying troubleshoot.  :(

to further assist concern, need ask following questions below:

• have updated windows 10 computer or phone?
• have changed settings on phone before issue started happen?
• have tried track other devices if there any?
• since issue happen on browsers, have tried other browsers aside ie , chrome? (microsoft edge, mozilla firefox, etc.)
