Windows Desktop keeps on refreshing itself on startup instantly - Microsoft Community

it started happening not long ago, turned on pc.. , kept refreshing desktop.. unable click or taskbar or else ssociated explorer.exe app.. used keep @ mayne 15 mins , stop.. doesmt seem stop @ all.. , making pc unusable..

no new software ir hardware installed recently. noticed when ctrl-alt-delete , shut down, error message pops up..

my pc specs follows:

motherboard: asus h81-gamer

cpu: intel i5-4690k

ram: crucial 8gb (double sided)

gpu: gigabyte gtx 970 g1 gaming

psu: 730w

hdd: western digital 2tb

ssd: corsair leforce 120gb

os: windows 10 latest (inc. creators update)

the error message getting can due corrupted or missing system file. suggest follow methods below:

method 1: end windows explorer process , create new one

1. press ctrl+shift+esc, under process tab, search windows explorer.
2. right click on , click on end task.
3. click on file in task manager @ top left corner of window , select run new task.
4. type explorer.exe and click on ok.

method 2: run memory diagnostic tool

1. press windows key , type memory diagnostic.
2. select windows memory diagnostics and click on restart , check problems.
3. follow on-screen instructions.

method 3: install pending updates

1. connect internet.
2. press windows key , type updates.
3. click on check updates.
4. under windows updates, click on check updates.
5. try install updates being shown.
