After Win10 Creators Update: the Task Bar has 100%-transparent - Microsoft Community

hi all,

after latest update (win10 pro/x64 creators update version 1703) formerly black, intransparent task bar became 100%-transparent (with black line on top) - , became barely visible.
now, better visibility had activate option transparency effects (from settings->personalisation->colors), changes background of (other) main-menus (start, taskbar, action center) into semi-transparency, too.

how can force main-menus a intransparent black background (like before creators update)?

thanks in advance

frank

hi,

based on description of issue have stated above, computer's taskbar became transparent instead of black background. windows 10 allows limited control on transparency of taskbar, action center, , start menu. can make transparent or solid in settings. bit transparent default, might want add higher level. here’s how increase transparency eding registry.

note: requires tweaking values in registry , isn’t faint of heart. before making changes make sure registry or create restore point before making changes. also, need have administrator rights change of registry key values.

  • first, use keyboard shortcut windows key + r , type: regedit and hit enter or click ok.
  • if want change transparency of taskbar, head following path in registry:

hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\advanced

  • create new dword 32-bit value , name it useoledtaskbartransparency and give value of 1.

  • to force change, go to settings > personalization > colors , toggle make start, taskbar , action center transparent switch off , on again.

let know result.
