USBs still on after shutting down the computer - Microsoft Community

i have new amd fx series pc asus board. run windows 10.

if shutdown computer, power of usb ports (webcam, external hard drive) remain on (the lights of webcam , external drive on). how come, , how resolve this?

when computer complies acpi standard shutdown operating system, small amount of power still present in motherboard. in fact, computer's motherboard has small led stays lit indicate this.

this done corporate networks, enable administrators power on computers overnight maintenance. however, can beneficial home users too, if want able reach computer remotely.

the amount of power in motherboard small - people call flea power - it's not computer still 'on.' it's capable of being turned on remotely (and quite secure.)
