cant open microsoft edge, mail, microsoft store. class not registered error message. even start button unresponsive.
i had similar when if tried open jpg picture. complained , reported 'class not registered'. in case did use 'open with' option , pick app open with, re-registering jpg picture app. after well.
now, know yours not jpgs, maybe same apply if try either set apps default app or maybe try resetting ms defaults.
<start> <settings> <system> <default apps> , make sure web browser set edge , mail set mail app. if already, try changing them else makes sense ( example change browser ie ) , change edge. if not help, try of other listed options 'resetting ms recommended defaults'.

edit - sorry, didn't notice <start> not responding either. [win] key open menu, or try pressing [win] + [i] keys open settings.
