Windows 10 all desktop icons grey except norton, cursor unresponsive - Microsoft Community


hi, rebooted machine (lenovo thinkpad i5, purchased new year ago) , when restarted desktop icons greyed except norton. when move cursor down task bar or start/windows icon changes blue circle , nothing.  

i can open explorer window if right click blue circle appears , no longer can in explorer window. 

cant into safe mode boot using f8 have ssd.

please help!

hi,

there several reasons may have caused issue. isolate concern performance of pc, suggest start pc in safe mode. please follow steps below:


  1. restart pc. when sign-in screen, hold shift key down while select power 
    > restart.
  2. after pc restarts the choose option screen, select troubleshoot > advanced options > startup settings > restart.
  3. after pc restarts, you'll see list of options. select 4 or f4 start pc in safe mode. or if you'll need use internet, select 5 or f5 for safe mode with networking.
  4. select safe mode networking to include network drivers , services you'll need access internet , other computers on network.

please post status of issue. glad assist further.

WTouch_Message_Window app running in the background is preventing - Microsoft Community

Windows error No Certificate Available - Microsoft Community
