lost windows 10 password - Microsoft Community

 usually log win10 pin number. been doing since first released win10. administrator wanted add family members laptop, needed password, said (in subject line),  forgot. been searching site after site , nothing works. cmd prompt, nope. not have password recovery disc , refuse buy third party recovery software can burn flash not have use again. have wasted 5 hours, today on this, no avail. , no, refuse clean reinstall. clean reinstall doing when have had enough , go linux. have read policy on passwords. i'm wonder why want make impossible end users correct simple thing forgetting password? understand microsoft doesn't care end user. people make obvious. notice didn't ask you, how solve simple, common problem. expect have no answer or ignore me anyway. however, still continue search one, no matter not.  "happy" microsoft customer.

why want make impossible end users correct simple thing forgetting password?

because if device stolen, thief able around password too. microsoft account not impossible, need verify that's , not thief.

rubbish, that's why make data on device secure making difficult bypass password.
