Windows 10 won't defragment, says"37% fragmented" - Microsoft Community


since purchasing computer windows 10, it'll "analyze" windows (c:) saying 0%, recover image checked in fraction of second, saying )%, when i check system comes "needs optimize 67% (or higher), click on optimize, in less 5 seconds, it's done status saying (needs optimization 30%, or higher.) set automatically "optimize" daily. i've updated whatever windows said needs updated if program use or has due system, etc. i've tried chkdsk...but says can't. went straight dos, , jr. high, typed in "date", "time", etc. dos wouldn't give response. called computer manufacturer, call each day. it's software issue. have me few things , it's not hardware or hard drive, contact microsoft/windows 10 patch or way repair software. frustrating, since isn't 2 months old, , i'm stuck window troubleshooter, , online information, doesn't fix or address issue.

  • what make , model of pc?
  • when see message you've mentioned?
  • do remember if have made changes or things you've done before issue start?
  • are drivers up-to-date? if not yet, can follow steps found on link on how update drivers in windows 10.
  • what exact message you're receiving?

  1. right-click start icon, select control panel.
  2. choose large icons option view by drop down list found on upper-right part of control panel window.
  3. locate select troubleshooting.
  4. click view all left pane.
  5. locate , click hardware , devices run troubleshooter follow next steps.
