Windows 10 Pro: BSOD - hal.dll & ntoskrnl.exe - Microsoft Community


i've searched through many posts past week in attempt find answer similar

issue nothing seems work , i'm not sure problem exists on

my system. latest drivers, bios, , windows updates. nothing over-clocked. there no

specific activity can point @ causes since happens @ times when there

nothing being done , system sitting idle. 

one of possible fixes regards resetting hal.dll install medium these

referencing previous versions of windows , not windows 10 specifically. have searched

windows 10 installation hal.dll did not find folder on install medium has it.

update:

 - attempted use microsoft's "verifier" tool system went bsod reboot cycle

   , able restart windows via safe mode bootup , disabling verifier tool.

  •    bsod bootup error: "driver verifier detected violation"

 - running memtest86+, intel processor diagnostic tool [64bit], , rog furmark produced no

    issues.

 - intel driver update: incorrectly states installed chipset driver (inf) 10.0.15063.0

    actual version installed 10.1.1.14, verified via device manager.

my system specs:

  • microsoft windows 10 pro
    • build 15063, 64-bit
    • clean installation, not upgrade previous windows version
  • gigabyte ga-z77x-ud5h (rev. 1.1)
    • bios version: f16h
  • intel i7-3770k cpu
  • corsair dominator platinum 16gb (2x8gb) ddr3 1600 mhz
    • p/n: cmd16gx3m2a1600c9
  • asus strix-gtx1070-o8g-gaming
    • p/n: 90yv09n0-m0na00
    • geforce driver version: 382.33
  • corsair ax860i ps
