Recovery - Your PC/Device needs to be repaired - Microsoft Community


im stuck on recovery screen. can access advanced options such reset computer, , command prompt. ive tried resetting computer fails. ive tried using command prompt using commands ive found on thread such bootsec /fixmbr bootsec /fixboot , bootsec /rebuildcd nothing has worked , computer still loads recovery error each time computer turned on.

the computer hp pavillion 23 in 1 computer running windows 10. specific error is

"the application or operating system couldn't loaded because required file missing or contains errors."

press esc recovery
press enter try again
press f8 startup settings
the esc key 1 anything

to resolve issue, suggest repair pc using installation usb or disc. if not have windows 10 installation usb or disc, can download , create 1 microsoft software download website. create installation media , use repair computer, follow steps below:

  1. on working pc, go microsoft software download website.
  2. download media creation tool , run it.
  3. select create installation media pc.
  4. choose language, edition, , architecture (64-bit or 32-bit).
  5. follow steps create installation media, , select finish.
  6. connect installation media created nonfunctional pc, , turn on.
  7. on initial setup screen, enter language , other preferences, , select next. if you're not seeing setup screen, pc might not set boot drive. check pc manufacturer's website info on how change pc's boot order, , try again.
  8. select repair computer. able perform startup repair repair pc.
  9. on choose option screen, select troubleshoot > advanced options > startup repair.
  10. you can use installation media start pc in safe mode or reset pc.
