Needing to get someone's name off the account and reprogram it. - Microsoft Community

my brother has passed away , keep getting messages about  needs fixed account, don't have pass word. need off computer, messages stop.  please me, excutor of estate , trying use computer.   please help....

hello louella,

this can facilitated removing brother's account on device. provide appropriate steps can resolve concern, we'd verify following:

• which type of account trying remove? (local account or microsoft account)
• are using administrator account?
• where did see prompts related brother's account? if possible, we'd request screenshot of it.

in meantime, can follow steps below remove microsoft account windows 10 pc:

1. in search box, type settings , press enter open settings window.
2. under settings, click on account.
3. on left pane under accounts, click on email & app accounts.
4. scroll down , click microsoft account you'd delete.
5. once you've located account want delete, click on remove button , click yes when prompted.
6. once done, restart device apply changes.
