Windows 10 sleep to hibernation failure - Microsoft Community
problem drains battery within few hours after windows transitions sleep hibernation via "hibernate after x minutes" setting. whatever happening not logged powercfg.
battery , drain during on time slower after transition sleep "hibernation". suggests machine doing max cpu when supposed have hibernated. in state machine not responsive power on , must cold booted.
setting used work great. have started rely on setting again in last week thinking explain unexpected battery depletions month or more.

to resolve issue, let following methods:
method 1: run power troubleshooter.

open control panel.
-
type “troubleshooting” in search bar , press “enter”.

in “troubleshooting” window, click on “view all” on left pane.

click on “power”.
-
click on “advanced” , click on “run administrator”.
-
click “next” , follow on-screen instructions complete troubleshooting process.
method 2: it could compatibility issue new fast startup component.
let try steps below:

open control panel/ power options.

on left side menu, select choose power buttons do.

select change settings that unavailable.

scroll down shutdown settings section.

remove the check mark turn on fast startup option.

select save changesbutton.
shut down the computer, wait couple of minutes , use power button to start computer.
method 3:we suggest restore default settings of power plan , check if helps.

click on change advanced power settings.
