Windows crashing on new laptop - Microsoft Community
hi everyone,
recently bought new asus e402s laptop windows 10 x64. set up, installed available updates, , started using computer , seemed running fine.
specs intel pentium n3710, 8gb ram, 1tb hard drive.
however, few days using it, crashed couple times. windows , froze - unable move mouse or type on keyboard. there no bsod or error messages, the screen stayed frozen minute or before restarted itself.
the first time happened wasn't using computer, but was logged in , just suddenly restarted (was sitting in front of computer reading book when noticed restarted). second time using when computer froze , restarted after minute or 2 of no response.
thinking may hardware problem particular laptop, went , exchanged 1 of same model. went through same set process...and few days later same thing happened. wasn't running particular programs when occurred. when frozen listened telltale signs eg hard drive noises, couldn't hear distinguishable noises. have laptop on laptop stand don't think should heat issue.
it seems random , it's not happens whenever have specific application opened. checked event viewer , error message "the system shutdown unexpectedly". there way determine if caused software issue, eg. problems windows 10? given occurred 2 laptops of same model, seems unlikely faulty hardware unless it's widespread issue. i'm unsuare whether software or hardware related.
oh , have scanned clean malware using mcafee came software (not mention it's unlikely same thing have occurred on 2 laptops, both of have real time protection activated).
checked device manager , there nothing suggests problems there, there no devices '!' etc.
also ran scan check following results:
verification 100% complete.
thanks input.
you haven't been able tie event or time elapse when happens?
could book reader involved?
have tried running using clean boot loads necessary windows components?
remove system network?
you might end running driver verifier make sure know command shut down.
other software utilities available watch system if can't find solution.
