Shutdown/Restart button does the opposite of what they are - Microsoft Community


about month or ago, did reset using media creation tool https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10, because having issues performing windows 10 refresh. reason decided refresh because having keyboard/touchpad issues mentioned here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/keyboard-is-messed-up-after-kb3194496-cumulative/b41687b4-a3cf-4f6e-b6ce-20ffe7d5f636
after completed system reset, noticed restart button shuts off computer, , shutdown button not shut off computer; hangs there. causing this? keyboard/touchpad issue seem better was, i'm wondering why shutdown/restart buttons doing opposite of supposed after using system recovery media creation tool. on appreciated!

hi,

go control panel > power options > 'choose power buttons do'

ensure shutdown selected.

click on 'change settings unavailable'

ensure shutdown selected here well.

run following scans retry power , restart



Windows / Windows 10 / Power on or off a device / PC

WTouch_Message_Window app running in the background is preventing - Microsoft Community

Windows error No Certificate Available - Microsoft Community
