Windows 10 highly unstable - Microsoft Community

this not question, statement. have used microsoft's products years without issue. recommend windows on else because familiar , easy use , damn platform both learn on , create on, however, recent experiences have caused me change mind this. not going waste time here, think need else microsoft wont learn damn thing. current hardware uses x79 intel chipset, , purchased windows 8.1 pro begin learning software development. stated before microsoft enthusiast. willingly went windows 10 free upgrade figuring os better 8.1.

well, few short days after upgrade started getting bluescreen issues, kernal power issues(never figure out cause). nothing fix myself, ignored issues figuring update solve problem. thought correct here when got build 1511, holy crap, no more stability issues, gaming great , learn development , use machine long periods of time. 1 day noticed forced restart due update. got anniversary update build 1607. build used whole year. during time had continuous issues, corrected clean install or restore points. software development out of question , gaming thing use system for. figured out how fix of these stability issues myself, these fixes short lived every signle day update reverse work had done, gave on it. system corrupted when installed new hdd(exactly same other 1 in machine). windows trying read raid device had raid disabled in uefi , bluescreens happening daily . problems compounded more when re imaged way build 1511, few days perfect , 0 problems. liked , contacted microsoft support disable automatic updates reliably use computer. support disabled service responsible auto updates , gaurunteed wouldn't update newer builds. wrong, windows did infact try update, got corrupted , once again had clean install. luckily data on hdd. point had creators update build 1706, , having many bluescreen issues , then(after 2 days since clean install) windows updated alot of drivers including display driver(there nothing wrong nvidias driver, why force generic display driver?) , when restarted, refused boot, appearantly boot sector overwritten, went recovery environment , couldn't sign microsoft account in recovery environment, after password change refused sign in. option yet clean install. time data accross drives no longer accessed. performing clean install corrupted data completely, , never happened before. decided make last purchase microsoft ever! bought windows 8.1, , downloaded media creation tool on windows 10 1 last time. im using windows 8.1 pro until goes end of life. enjoy using it, far more stable , reliable entire 2 years used windows 10. , no forced updates. im afraid turn on auto updates due terrible stability issues had windows 10, , have used windows xp, vista, 7 in past updates turned on. these past 2 weeks have been productive, turned auto updated off indefinately , found way disable maintenance avoid lock up, otherwise 0 issues, bluescreens gone, no more kernel power errors, no more driver corruption. should noted use trusted software including microsoft visual studio. stated before prefer microsoft's products, after experience never invest in future of windows. test driving various linux os's , may consider mac osx software support. think in microsofts best interest scrap windows 10 , build fresh new os doesn't cause these kinds of issues, brother's laptop bricked because updated creators update.(automatically updated) used older sony vaio , checked manufacturers website window 10 support, model not supported. why force update computer not compatible? @ least can still use machine, laptop fried. terrible support, terrible experience. dont need hear else's great experience using windows 10, chipsets supported better , windows 10 works fine machines, in experience, chipset not meant windows 10 , performs better 8.1. kind of check , guess compatibility garbage. microsoft, once big enthusiast i'm preparing migrate better , more stable environments work in.
