Problems in installing a language pack in Windows 10 - Microsoft Community

hello,

i have pc windows 10 version 1607 (build14393.969). wanted add polish language after found need polish proofing tools while working german word part of office 365. used download button in word.

i brought download section in picture below.

i downloaded installed 32-bit lap version, because use 32-bit office. next picture show fragment of desktop view before , after lap-installation:

as can see word icon in existing word file replaced generic white icon. moreover, found word no more standard application before lap installation , cannot set standard application .doc files in picture below.

when try find word in list , set .doc file extension word, find unknown application .doc. however, works .docx…

polish proofing tools work fine after lap installation windows not… tried load windows polish language before installing lap package, same erroneous result. difference was, keyboard layout set active in picture below.

now every time want load .doc file message below, cannot set word standard .doc file extension.

what’s wrong?

two years ago, had similar case windows 7. reason official windows 7 links showed false packages (for different windows build - not same installed windows 7) download. same reason?

there different factors may consider why error occur on system. identify cause of error, kindly follow steps on how run office configuration analyzer tool. 
 

this find issues in office 365 installed on computer. provided link public-facing article (usually microsoft knowledge base article) each problem can read possible fixes.
