Windows 10 takes 20+ minutes to boot and then freezes for the next - Microsoft Community

i went using desktop pc, running smoothly on 10 days until 2 days ago, when desktop started exhibiting weird symptoms.

suddenly, booting started taking on 20+ minutes (as opposed under 30 seconds under normal circumstances) , makes me frustratingly wait again more 10 minutes @ login screen.

the hard disk light glows constantly, indicating fact it's running @ 100%. once logged-in after insanely frustrating wait, resource monitor showed process super generic name of "system" performing intense write operation on sector of disk.

when looked @ event viewer, under 'system' tab, find large bunch of errors 'disk' tag, description: "the device, \device\harddisk0\dr0, has bad block."

after this, ran smart test on hard drive using seatools windows. my hard drive (which less 2 years old) passed tests.

now, when tried restarting again, encountered same issue. had wait insanely long time, tested patience.

now, don't know how proceed ahead. although can clean install windows 10 again, don't want go through on frickin' weekday if find easier solution before that.

help me.

thank you.

straight away - go safe mode without trouble?  shift-restart.
