After Windows 10 update unable to change user type from standard to - Microsoft Community

after windows 10 update unable change user type standard administrator.  prior update set administrator.  simple route thru control panel change user type impossible.  set standard , won't allow change administrator.  got ideas.

i cannot advise cause of problem since windows must therefore believe not have functioning admin accounts on computer, [normally hidden] builtin admin should appear in login screen in safe mode , can use create new admin-level user account , possibly fix current standard user account. 

use procedure in use built-in admin account in safe mode - wiki  don't concerned initial focus being on problems clicking on yes button ... situation facing same one.  [i editing article's para 3.5 - ver 1703, control panel through start, scroll down windows system & click on can see control panel entry.  editing completed]

i suggest use safe mode work create new admin , test can sure working correctly [you can keep fallback user account in case of future problems].  once happy new admin account, can use in control panel, user accounts, manage account change existing problem account admin one.
