Windows Defender Registry Keys - Microsoft Community


it startet windows update hanging on kb2267602 (definitionupdate windows defender).

following forum thread solve problem disabled windows defender setting 

hklm\system\currentcontrolset\services\windefend\start 2 4.

my system windows 10 home have no group policy editor gpedit.msc

by further investigation found out there better solutions disabling windows defender.

how can reenable windows defender ?

hi answer did not help...

my problem was, switched 

hklm\system\currentcontrolset\services\windefend\start 2 (autostart) 4 (disabled).

this wrong in first place , methods repairing system tried failed on switching back.

using other keys under hklm\software\policies\... might have been correct way disable , enable defender, did not after changed value under hklm\system...\services.

in end happy have windows 10 home edition , update creators update. after update able enable defender again , windows update too.

WTouch_Message_Window app running in the background is preventing - Microsoft Community

Windows error No Certificate Available - Microsoft Community
