Win 10/64 Pro Hidden Administrative account active. How can I - Microsoft Community


hidden administrative account active, verified in safe mode through recovery usb drive.  however, cannot access it.  it doesn't appear on logon screen other accounts , doesn't appear if click "start".  all other accounts appear.  i activated hidden administrative account safe mode using recovery usb drive.

all want reset password account administrative authority typically use.  i can no longer log on it.

we recommend following these steps enable built-in administrator in command prompt @ boot.

  1. boot windows 10 installation usb or recovery drive, , open command prompt @ boot (shift+f10).
  2. in command prompt, type regedit, , press enter.
  3. in left pane of registry editor, click on hkey_local_machine key.
  4. click on file (menu bar), , on load hive.
  5. open drive (ex: d ) have windows 10 installed on, , browse location below. note: the drive letter (ex: c) not same @ boot within windows 10. d:\windows\system32\config
  6. select sam file, , click on open.
  7. in load hive dialog, type rem_sam, , click on ok.
  8. in left pane of registry editor, navigate , open key: hkey_local_machine\rem_sam\sam\domains\account\users\000001f4
  9. in right pane of 000001f4 key, double click on f binary value modify it.
  10. in first column of line 0038, change 11 10, click/tap on ok, , go step 13 below. note: you clicking left of 11 place cursor there, press delete key, type 10.
  11. close registry editor , command prompt.
  12. click on continue startup in windows 10.
  13. close registry editor , command prompt.
  14. click on continue to startup in windows 10.
