i'm sure has been mentioned before, i'm going pipe anyway matter of feedback.
savvy user here. no guru, savvy enough research how navigate labyrinthine mess windows's wake-up policies , settings not more within couple of hours, , glad have control of own computer again , forget matter.
i despise sound of pcs blasting fans on full , jerking awake repeatedly @ night, obnoxiously ignoring fact put them sleep reason. , it's downright infuriating have update process (i'm imagining did it) reset them after painstakingly shut off.
so, basic user suggestions here:
1) make configuration applet combines ability edit relevant settings, policies, registry entries, etc., regarding wake-up settings 1 place. should not messy or difficult. trust ms can this.
2) i've never met person likes personal computer coming on @ night. if want that, make option opt-in to, not default.
please, microsoft, longstanding thing. please fix and/or make customizable without having read through variety of forum posts , figuring out of them gives obsolete advice. i'm quite sure i'm not 1 has found amazingly obnoxious. resent having re-research every time happens (yeah, yeah, have taken down notes in anticipation of windows update screwing settings, but, again, it's obnoxious expect research project , note-taking savvy user remember weird places discreetly store different settings in regard issue basic 1 being in control of when computer on or off ).

to make sure not come on @ night shut down computer, not let sleep, or hibernate.
in power options make sure check stuff in control panel , happens when close computer, , @ stuff not shown, turn off fast start, sleep, hibernate, etc.
the other option hard shut down.
Windows / Windows 10 / Power on or off a device / PC
