two nights ago booted pc , noticed flash screens programs disabled in startup eg tomtom , such came up.  disabled them startup , thought  nothing of it. noticed had red cross on audio icon, message saying not running. realised had no internet connection , seemed stuck in aeroplane mode.  on off switch recoils on every time. after googling loads on pc thought had solution internet connection etc in changing adapter settings.  found folder empty. in device manager looks ok - no warnings etc isn't. folder empty.  have discovered windows security turned off , error message can't turn on.  update , security won't open, can't change power options.  |in devices in settings if click on bluetooth folder disappears/closes.  keep finding tings won't work.  seems associated wifi, bluetooth, networks , pc management.  have googled til blue in face , nothing works.  thing have managed fix live mail can export emails in  case of disaster! (all important stuff on external drive.  never keep stuff on pc). of no tho app. there update few days ago can't see can't see if if in update.

hi sandra,

there might conflicts on updates or programs installed on pc. ask questions know best possible resolution offer:

  • have tried restarting pc in safe mode networking start windows windows in basic state, using limited set of files , drivers?
  • did try perform clean boot start windows using minimal set of drivers , startup programs? helps eliminate software conflicts occur when install program or update or when run program in windows 10.
  • have tried running system file checker tool repair missing or corrupted system files?
  • did install third-party antivirus software?
