Wannacry and network map - Microsoft Community

in our school, on each computer, exists network drive mapped  common big space on a  windows 2012 server r2.

my question is:

if wannacry infects computer, same common big space?

if case, there difference if use  shortcut (link) instead of network drive?

the information have malware spreads worm leveraging vulnerabilities have been fixed. while security updates automatically applied in computers, users , enterprises may delay deployment of patches. unfortunately, ransomware, known wannacrypt, appears have affected computers have not applied patch these vulnerabilities. while attack unfolding, remind users install ms17-010 if have not done so.

you may refer windows server 2012 , windows server 2012 r2 section of article make sure necessary patches installed.
