Windows Server 2016 is stuck at startup logo screen after restart - Microsoft Community


we have server windows 2016, working fine until yesterday.  minor windows updates took place , restart required.  after server has not come up.

it hangs @ start-up screen, has windows blue logo , rotating animated dots.  after keeping server in state more 12 hours, restarted, problem still persists. 

we tried start-up repair. 

this virtual machine hosted on vmware , allocated 12gb memory, 4-core cpu.

what issue?

are able boot in safe mode?

in esxi (i assume that's you're using :) ) add server 2016 installation iso , boot it. after has booted, choose "repair computer" > troubleshooting > command prompt.

then run 2 following commands boot menu displayed:

bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes

bcdedit /set {bootmgr} timeout 10

that menu can @ least choose advanced boot options try , in os , start diagnosing issue. either safe mode or last known configuration places start.

WTouch_Message_Window app running in the background is preventing - Microsoft Community
