Windows update has continually corrupted Explorer.exe, which leads to - Microsoft Community

every few starts, computer boot logon screen. once logon, little dots go around in circles few minutes, until screen turns black, white cursor still seen. can move cursor, , can open task manager using contrl alt delete. there, can right click on of processes listed (which not running) , go located drives navigation. however, there no response when right click on desktop, , there absolutely no start menu, no matter do.

i have tried restarting explorer.exe task manager, , worked 1 time. other that, has had 0 effect. have received error message 1 time (0xc0000018). have reloaded windows backup several times, , after few restarts whole process starts again. have stopped windows update, , disabled services. , while takes longer, end same problem. have been using windows on 20 years, , have never experienced problem. while no expert, computer savy, , lot of research on how maintain computer. please not insult intelligence simplistic things try, have tried of listed google entries. last resort before going os.

i using asus, g751jy high performance gaming computer. has i7 processor, nvidia 980m graphic's card , 3 tb's of ssd space. dual boot windows 10 pro on 2 partitions of same m.2 pcie drive.
