What is Windows People Experience Host? - Microsoft Community

i planning to teach class on windows 10 privacy.

when go to privacy settings , @ apps that want access camera, notification, microphone, etc. see an app called "windows people experience host". same process as "windows shell experience host"?

if on privacy settings turn-off access of "windows people  experience host" various devices , functions, what practical effect?

a second question background apps setting. page says turning off an app or apps means app(s) can't receive info (not specified info) or send notifications or updated. but news less power used. not said turning off global setting increases privacy or security. because option is under privacy settings implication affect privacy. true?

hi steve,

the windows people experience host part of people bar update included in windows 10 build 14915. it's different windows shell experience host process responsible presenting universal apps , providing integration windows shell.

may check out link more info.

with regard background apps settings, yes, affect privacy. given apps not enabled run in background won't able receive info, send notifications, or updated. , in addition that, conserve power.

let know if need further information.

regards.
