power problems - Microsoft Community


bought hp envy laptop. when open lid use it, uses power battery only. though still have power cord plugged in. why doesn't use power cord? there setting need change within windows 10 or maybe problem bad power cord? can help?

please try ths following:

  1. if there switch on wall socket laptop plugged into, check make sure switched on
  2. if there fuse in plug of power adapter, check working
  3. if there light on power adapter , on, try this:
  • unplug lead laptop
  • remove battery laptop
  • press , hold power button on laptop 60 seconds
  • wait 5 minutes
  • plug lead laptop , see if powers up
  • if powers up, put battery laptop , see if charging

 

if none of works, power lead might faulty, bring can put meter on see if outputting 19v

 



Windows / Windows 10 / Power on or off a device / PC

WTouch_Message_Window app running in the background is preventing - Microsoft Community

Windows 10 - Microsoft Community

did upgrade win 7 win 10 when kept getting messages telling me needed update before stop supporting win 7, , far must dislike win10.  i've had lot of problems, main being lot of times when turn on laptop, blank screen.  the laptop on , running, there light coming screen can't past screen.  at 1 point, closed screen go sleep, open screen , fine.  that doesn't work either - laptop won't go sleep.  i've tried going safe mode, messing different settings nothing has worked.  i install updates windows recommends - i'm @ loss , frustrated.  anyone have ideas on how fix blank screen logons?  is video driver issue??  i appreciate before frustrated , throw laptop out window.  :)  thanks in advance. answers post should include minimum information. 1.  device type. ie pc, laptop, tablet, surface. 2.  os type, home, pro, executive, etc 3.  current build....
