Win10-The stub received bad data Problem - Microsoft Community


good afternoon.

my notebook has clean install in windows 10. however, 3 month ago, when click program (eg. firefox, xlite, etc), the stub received bad data.  error occured, of time, when click them again, can open program. adapter setting of network sharing centre can not use.  how can fix it? thanks.

thanks reaching out us. understand you're receiving error message: the stub received bad data problem. verify, have tried download latest windows 10 updates? if pc updated , issue still occurs, let's determine cause of issue using system file checker (sfc) tool scan possible corrupted files, , restore them. here's how:

  1. open elevated prompt. press windows key + x, , right-click on command prompt (admin).
  2. at command prompt, type following command, , press enter:
                   sfc /scannow

note: scan may take time, please patient. windows repair corrupted or missing files found. scan results shown after process finished. may refer article additional information.

after performing scan, let's run dism (deployment image servicing , management) tool repair windows corruption errors, whether sfc tool found errors or not. follow these steps:

  1. open elevated prompt. press windows key + x, , right-click on command prompt (admin).
  2. at command prompt, type following command, , press enter:

dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

see image below.

it may take several minutes command operation completed. after running dism, it's still idea re-run sfc /scannow make sure issues resolved.

WTouch_Message_Window app running in the background is preventing - Microsoft Community

did upgrade win 7 win 10 when kept getting messages telling me needed update before stop supporting win 7, , far must dislike win10.  i've had lot of problems, main being lot of times when turn on laptop, blank screen.  the laptop on , running, there light coming screen can't past screen.  at 1 point, closed screen go sleep, open screen , fine.  that doesn't work either - laptop won't go sleep.  i've tried going safe mode, messing different settings nothing has worked.  i install updates windows recommends - i'm @ loss , frustrated.  anyone have ideas on how fix blank screen logons?  is video driver issue??  i appreciate before frustrated , throw laptop out window.  :)  thanks in advance. answers post should include minimum information. 1.  device type. ie pc, laptop, tablet, surface. 2.  os type, home, pro, executive, etc 3.  current build....
